Hello friends! We are software developers at ConsenSys and MetaX. You may have heard that we are collaborating to solve the very expensive problem of fraud in the web advertising industry. We’ll soon be releasing a technical whitepaper describing our ambitious plan, called AdChain, to resolve the coordination and incentive problems at the root of ad fraud. In advance of that, we want to share our view on the existing landscape as we see it. Perhaps you can think about how you would use a blockchain to solve these problems in advance of our whitepaper release, so that you will be primed to discuss these issues with us when we issue our proposal.
Good news! MetaX and ConsenSys have structured the build out phase of the adChain ecosystem, and we’re now ready to kick off development in earnest. We’ve put together a rockstar team and a development timeline that adToken holders will love.

Ads.txt is an IAB Tech Lab initiative that was first introduced in May 2017. It is designed to root out fraudulent sellers and resellers across the programmatic supply chain; a significant challenge advertisers face when buying inventory on the open exchange, especially as fraud evolves to become ever more sophisticated.

Both adToken (ADT) and BAT (Basic Attention Token) leverage the Ethereum blockchain and provide solutions for the digital advertising ecosystem. However, they go about it in fundamentally different ways. The following article will provide a brief overview of the similarities and the differences between adToken and BAT.
On Monday Jun-26–2017 03:37:06 PM +UTC, at block #3933451 the adToken contribution period began. We set a hard cap of 33,333 ETH. When the dust settled, the entire contribution period lasted only 23 seconds, and the launch was over in 1 block with a total of $7,697,923 USD raised at a $230.94 USD per ETH valuation. In this spotlight article, we will follow a domain’s journey through the adChain Registry. The domain is a fictional blog called thetopic.io that caters to the latest trends and Hollywood gossip. Thetopic.io serves online advertisements to generate revenue and its owners, Stacy and Steve have heard about the adChain Registry and would like to apply their domain.

Our white paper brings to light a vision for a token based platform built on Ethereum called adChain. The idea behind it was to give people from around the world the ability to curate a single list of digital publishers so that advertisers could use it as a public utility.
On October 18, 2017, MetaX (adChain) played host to the IAB Tech Lab for their first “Blockchain in Advertising” event featuring members of the Blockchain Working Group, which MetaX (adChain) is a founding member. It is part of our continued effort to foster education and awareness around industry-specific blockchain applications and use cases.
MetaX (adChain) has joined forces with the IAB Tech Lab to form a Blockchain Working Group. The roster of working group members as it currently stands: MetaX, NYIAX, Inc., Group M, and Kochava Inc. will devote resources towards the advancement and promotion of blockchain technology for digital advertising.
